Capital TechSearch is seeking Senior Systems Administrator. The Senior Systems Admin is responsible for the company's corporate IT systems.  The specific responsibilities include the support of the company's server infrastructure including hardware, operating system, networking, backup infrastructure, application-support, desktop support for corporate and remote users, hosted VoIP support, hosted email support and hosted audio/video conferencing support. 

  • Managing and maintaining windows AD domain, Back-up, SAN, Citrix Xenserver Farm, Citrix XenApp Infrastructure, Application management in Xenapp, Network management, Firewall Management, Application support Laptops, Phone system management, and anything else that arises such as hardware support. 
  • Managing upcoming projects including AD IntegrationMigration, Office 365 MigrationCoordination exchangeSkype, Phone system Migration to Cisco system, CoordinationMigration of Corporate servers (Jira, Confluence, GIT,SVN, etc. to data center.)
  • Manage and maintain application and development applications including Jira, GIT, Office 365, Asterisk, Confluence, TeamCity, Windows AD, Microsoft office, XenApp, Microstrategy, informatica, SVN, EDT, and any other new applications.


  • 5+ years of business experience in a high energy environment
  • 2 years experience in Systems Administration
  • 2 years experience with hardware & networking
  • Some Linux experience, with willingness to become proficient in Linux
  • Bachelors degree preferred (or equivalent experience)

Required knowledge, skills & abilities

  • Strong server management experience
  • Experience within an environment that has audit requirements
  • Experience as a working manager; comfortable in a hands on role
  • Experience managing a Windows desktop environment (PC and printer support)
  • Experience administering a VMware environment
  • Working knowledge of Cisco Routers, Switches and VoIP phones


  • Perform a wide range of system administration duties on IT database, application, and other servers including install, debug, maintain, upgrade, and general support.
  • Proactive monitoring of all servers, applications and services using a combination of tools to ensure high availability and SLA's.
  • Perform regular and on-demand system backups and recoveries.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, testing and maintaining server level disaster recovery plans.
  • Collect and review system data for capacity and planning purposes.
  • Interface with vendors for procurement & maintenance of all IT infrastructures.
  • Manage & troubleshoot networks, intranet & internet connectivity throughout the organization
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software and network operating system
  • Provide orientation to new users of existing technology
  • Provide individual training and support on request
  • Provide recommendations about accessing information and support
  • Maintain current and accurate inventory of technology hardware, software and resources.Maintain log and/or list of required repairs and maintenance
  • Troubleshoot technology issues
  • Research current and potential resources and services and make purchase recommendations
  • Install workstations to include all hardware and software set ups as well as network accounts and passwords
  • Monitor security of all technology
  • Advise staff of security breach and/or change in password or security status
  • Identify and prepare hardware for disposal and properly strip and secure in that process

Preferred knowledge, skills & abilities

  • Interest in or experience working for high growth software company
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time with little supervision
  • Advanced knowledge of installations, upgrades and troubleshooting of Windows Server & Web application Servers. Experience with Active Directory highly desirable
  • Working knowledge of web application security, understanding of vulnerabilities and countermeasures
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to research & solve complex issues independently.
  • Ability to effectively communicate issues and resolutions to all levels of the organization
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive customer and internal information
