Job Overview

Senior Front End Application Developer – The Senior Application Developer will have overall responsibility for application coding and design. The Application Developer will work in a team of 10 developers in an Agile environment delivering continuous functionality for our DHS client.

The Senior Application Developer will specialize in Front End application development and support and have considerable experience supporting web-based applications. Development is conducted using an MVC (Model/View/Controller) Development Methodology. The Java Enterprise Edition (J2EE) Platform is used in an Agile Software Development environment. Application Programming Interfaces (API’s) include REST, SOAP, and JSON. Message Services include the use of Apache ActiveMQ. Experience using DevOps pipeline tools, including JIRA and Jenkins. The development will involve web design frameworks to support multiple browser platforms including Chrome, IE, Java, and iOS.

Front End Development (Required):
  • Experienced Front End Developer
  • Pave the way for team of full stack developers
  • Advanced/Expert level AngularJS
  • Advanced/Expert level Angular
  • Advanced/Expert level front end/client javascript builds
  • Experience migrating from AngularJS to Angular
  • Advanced/Expert level CSS
  • Advanced/Expert level DOM
  • Automated testing – preferred
Back End Development:(Nice to Have)
  • Java
  • Strong object oriented skills
  • Design patterns
  • Spring Boot – preferred
  • Spring Security – bonus
  • Microservice – preferred
  • Hibernate – preferred
  • Build tools – gradle preferred
Job Requirements
  • Highly Preferred current or recent DHS/ICE Public Trust
  • Five (5) or more years of relevant experience in an Enterprise IT environment
  • Experience with developing and managing data models with CA Erwin
  • Experience creating and updating data dictionaries
  • Experience with requirements tools and tracking (e.g. JIRA, Version One)
  • Experience working with user stories, including facilitation, prioritization, and negotiation with business sponsors, stakeholders, project sponsors, product owners
  • Technical proficiency with SQL including the ability to create queries to validate data integrity and other data constraints
